Too Funny, Really

For some reason, Katie's shirt in these pictures cracks me up. Probably way more than it reasonable should. But I can't help it. I had to buy it (full price, which I try not to do, I mean 10+ bucks for tiny baby t-shirt, come on people)and then I have to laugh when she wears it. Little one thinks she's just too funny for Momma. I especially love the little easter peeps that are running across the back of the shirt. Sorry you can't see them here, they are really too funny.

Can They Really Be Ahead of Schedule?

We recently received notification from our builder that we will be closing on our new house in three and a half weeks, which is ahead of schedule. Let the packing begin - again!

Much Better than Last Year's Easter Costume

Last year at Easter, we had Katie dress in a head to toe bunny costume. She HATED it. This year, she kind of likes the furry, fuzzy ears. She wore them on her way to see our new house on Friday. Here's what it's looking like now. Inside, we also have coutnertops, doors, fireplace and mantel, moldings, tubs and toilets, and hardwoods! We will probably get to move in before the end of May. Can't believe it! What I am most excited about is that we will have all this grass for Katie to go out and play in everyday! She loves going outside, she would stay out all day and night if we let her. It's hard for her to go out and play at the apartment, so the yard for Katie to play in is going to be the best part (OK and maybe also the whirlpool tub!)

Steve's Family Easter

We celebrated an early easter at Aunt Susan's house this past weekend. Katie had fun walking everywhere, even though she did get a little tired and therefore, whiney. But Ganny Pam, um I mean, the easter bunny, got her a really really big ball, which she rolled around all over, and acted all big and tough as she tried to lift and throw it (she managaged it!)

Baby Shower Baby

Katie and I had a great time hanging out at Emily's baby shower this weekend. Katie made a new friend, a 3-year old named Carlie, who helped her walk and played with her. Katie loved all the attention, of course. Katie is getting much better at balance and walking. She walks along with an adult, or a 3-year old, holding just one hand! Soon enough she will be running all over the place.

Tissue Monster

This all happened in a matter of minutes at Ganny's house Sunday night. A testament to exactly how much mischief a toddler can get into in a very short period of time. Katie happens to be fascinated by tissue boxes, and with singular focus that she doesn't apply any other task, she will sit and pull every tissue out of the box as fast as she can. You can't get her attention at all while she is playing with her tissue box. But, it happens to be completely adorable.

Every once in a while, when Katie's playing, I 'll take out my camera, point it at her and tell her to work the camera. Here's what I get.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

For those of you who do not know, two weeks ago today Steve had back surgery. Since then, Katie has gotten a double ear infection, a rash all over her body, and had her first episode of real "vomit" (which occurred multiple times while she was sleeping in bed with Steve and I) In the mean time, it snowed and iced, making it very hard for me to get to work and for people to get here to watch Katie. Then, I finally get into work in DC last thursday and I get the most awful stomach bug ever, steve has to pick me up from the Metro (even though me car was at the Marc station) and then I preceed to have the worst day of my life. Friday, Steve got the same thing. Also the worst day of his life. My car had been stuck b/c I didn't have a shovel to immediatly dig it out and it became completely encased in ice. I finally got it out of the parking spot today only to find the right front tire is totally flat and it is leakin antifreeze. SWEET! And as always, Steve can't lift Katie, who has decided to forget that she normally sleeps all night, and revert to her sleeping habits of a year ago (when she was a newborn) So all I have left to say is WHAT'S NEXT !?!

There's Always Room for Jello

Katie tried her first Jello after her Dad's surgery. She very much enjoyed how much of a mess she could make with it. In other Katie news, she actually has enough hair for us to start making her wear crazy hairstyles, hence the Mohawk!

Sick Baby Girl

Baby girl has been running a fever since Tuesday evening. She was up 2 times Tuesday night, and countless times last night. The poor girl is miserable. Even sick and exausted in the wee hours of the morning she is very cute, I couldn't resist a couple of pictures.

Too Cool for Drool

Katie is really into wearing her shades. Whenever we put them on her, she starts to crack up. Then she likes to push them up onto her head and wear them like Momma does. She's thinks she's so cool.

Busiest Week Ever

Here are some cute shots of the Katemister, which have nothing to do with this week, the busiest week ever, in which I am stuck doing a bunch of crappy things in a really short period of time. Namely, packing, going to the dentist, moving, cleaning, painting, unpacking. I can't wait for this week/weekend to be OVER!

Bon Voyage

My cousin Nikki went to London to study for the semester. We visited My aunt's in Philly before she left, where Katie was enthralled with my cousin Josh's accordian playing, and being able to play a real piano herself. I think we have quite the musical child on our hands. She cries when Steve stops playing his guitar for her. My grandparents also came for a visit, and everyone had a great time.

The New Place

This is our new place! Pretty sweet, huh? Lots of open space...

But really, here's a pic of our lot and I can't express how much we can't wait for there to actually be a house on it that we can move into.

Wordplosion

You know how I used to say that Katie had a poopsplosion? Well, she rarely has those anymore, but today she wordploded! That is to say, she is trying to say all kinds of words today. She started with repeating colors while steve was reading her color book (she said red, and of course, purple) and since then, since she is being such a chatterbox, we keep presenting her with new things to say. She has added bye bye, lion, and ball to her list. She has never tried to mimick our speech this much, we are very excited!

Christmas with Baby Tatie

Katie's first Christmas was great. We visited Granny, where katie got TMX Elmo, which scared the crap out of her, my parents house, then took a road trip to Deleware to visit my Dad's family, where Katie stuffed her face and played with Barbies for the first time. She 'baby hulked' and played hide and seek all day making everyone laugh.

Katie had a lot of fun playing with all the wrapping paper, boxes, bows and tissue. What was the acual present? Who cares! this gift bag is great! More pics to come...

No more two tooth in this town

Katie is no longer a two tooth! She has her top two front teeth growing in.Appearently santa has granted her "all she wants for christmas." Here are some new pictures. Messy baby picture is after we tried to let her eat pasta on her own, the crawling picture is just cute (she crawls everywhere now, including up the stairs) and the Tree picture is from us going out to get Katie's first christmas tree. She was a little leery of the trees at first, but now she loves it!

6 Wierd Things

OK, Jessie has "tagged" me to write 6 wierd things, so I'll play along . Here goes:
1. I have Synethesia. Yes it's a real thing, and no I'm not gonna try to explain it b/c it would take wayyyy too long.
2. I am afraid a bees. Really afraid.
3. I brush my eyebrows every morning, and get mad when Steve tries to mess them up. Now he'll mess up Katie's eyebrows in front of me, and that bugs me too! Poor girl.
4. I like tuna fish and peanut butter sandwiches.
5. I could NEVER write with just one pen. That would be torture. I used to have at minimum 3 pens in different colors in my classes with me to take notes.
6. Having trouble thinking of # 6, so I guess I'll go with the fact that I can sing 'row row row your boat backwards.'

Gobble Gobble Baby Katie

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Despite not being able to get to DE because of Steve getting carsick, we had a good time at Kim's. Katie got to try a lot of "big people" food. As you can see fromt he picture, her favorite were the sweet potatoes. All the action made Katie a tired girl, she feel alseep as soon as her little head hit the carseat and her thumb hit her mouth!

Baby Blues

People are always commenting on Katie's big blue eyes. I never really thought her eyes were particulary large or anything, but then I looked at this photo. Look at those huge baby blues! I always said I hoped my children would get Steve's eyes. She looks more like a little girl and less like a baby everyday.

The Office Ate my Camera

Sorry it's been so long between posts, and more importantly, between picutres. Those of you that have seen the our office understand the title of this blog, and that is the reason for the few and far between pictures...the office ate my camera. Well, not really my camera, but it did seem to take the battery charger into a black hole. I cannot find the thing anywhere! No battery charger = no camera. Don't worry, I will figure something out, I can't not take pictures of Baby Girl's first Thanksgiving! On that note..Happy Thanksgiving all!

How was your Poop today?

I never would have thought that I would be so concerned with poop. Did she, didn't she, what did it look like, how much was there, what was the texture, like playdough? Yet this is the list of question I run through everytime that I talk to whoever is watching Katie. Yes, she's been having some "issues." So good news for Katie, she Pooped this morning and the anwers to all the questions were correct this time! Good news for you, I am not going to describe anything more about the Poop!

In completely unrelated, yet very monumental news, Frank and Ronnie are in for buying the townhouse! Very Very Very happy that we will not have to stage and list the house.

Not Just Katie Updates Anymore

So we are thinking of relocating Katie to a new house in Brunswick. In fact, we are more than thinking about it. If our mortgage loan gets approved and we can sell our townhouse, then Katie will get to say that she's from Brunswick. Selling a townhouse stuffed with way too much, well, stuff, whilst also having a 9 month old baby is going to suck! However, Quick Decision Maker that he his, Brother Frank is seriously considering buying our house, which would mean that we don't have to "stage" or "show" it. Needless to say, we are really hoping Frank comes through.

The baby cake is doing well. At her Doctor's appointment last week, she weighed 20 lbs, 9 ozs and was 30 inches long. She is still at the top of the charts and climbing. She is also crawling, pulling herself up to standing, clapping, pinching, dancing, and shrieking as loud and often as she can. She is also desperatly trying to push out some hair to cover her bald head.
