She's Here!!!

Baby Katie was born Friday 1/27 at 11:19 pm. She weighed 6 lbs 13.5 ounces, and she was 20.5 inches long. Both mommy and baby are recovering quite well. Here are some pictures.

Baby Katie's New Ride

Steve and I just bought a Ford Explorer. We wanted something bigger now that our family is expanding. Check it out! We are all ready to bring Baby Katie home from the hospital now - if only she were ready "to go get born" as Big Mike would say. :)

Still Pregnant

Yes, I am still pregnant. I have been back to the Doctor several times, and my hypertension is mostly getting better. The midwives actually said they are suprised I am still pregnant. Me too! So we are waiting, the lastest word is that I will be checked into the hospital for an induction monday or tuesday of next week if I have not had the baby already. So it looks like by this time next week - there will be another Shearer in the family. I'll keep you updated.

Bed Rest

So, I went to the 38 week appointment with my midwife today and have officially been confined to bed rest until baby katie makes her grand arrival. Steve says I will be just like Mrs. Bigglesworth. I also found out that I am already dilating - almost 2 centimeters - so it seems she may be coming sooner rather than later. I am getting pretty nervous about the delivery now, wish me luck! More updates on the situation as they occur!
